The story of Evyap, which started with soap production in 1927 in Erzurum, now extends from soap to shower gels, from shampoos to shaving products, from skin care to fine fragrance, from baby diapers to toothpaste, and many other categories of products in over 100 countries. Evyap, by now, is one of the leading soap and personal care products manufacturers of the world. Evyap, which carries out a large portion of the export of soap and personal care products from Turkey, is among the 100 Top Turkish industrial firms. With nearly 3500 employees, Evyap is growing steadily in order to meet the demands of the market. Aside from the facilities in Turkey, Evyap has a factory in Egypt that became operational in 2002. Evyap is present in the international soap market with Duru, Fax and Arko brands. They sell as one of top two brands in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Romania, Poland, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Albania, Moldova and many other markets. In the pre-shave category, Arko has a dominant position in Russia, Ukraine and in the vast geographic region from Central Asia to the Middle East. Sanino is one of the most preferred toothpaste brands in Ukraine. Evyap International was established as the foreign trade subsidiary of Evyap to perform the activities of sales and distribution of soaps, personal care products, hygienic products, detergents and glycerin in international markets. The company has export operations to more than 100 countries worldwide from Poland to Ukraine, from Russia to Algeria. International sales constitute about half of total company sales, and has significant potential for growth. Russia is one of Evyap’s strongest markets, while Evyap’s brands (Duru, Arko) enjoy leadership positions in their categories. In Russia, Evyap used to operate through 2 large distributors. Currently Evyap has developed new aggressive global strategy. Executing on this strategy, a new route to market was designed for Russia, aiming to build a strong direct presence and providing a double-digit sales growth. This route to market suggests consolidating current resources in Russia and hence taking over the business from the distributors by Q1 2014 while building a strong team, developing local operations, distribution and marketing. Last year Evyap started building an oleochemical manufacturing plant in Malaysia.
